Blue Jean Blues

Sweater – Oak + Fort

Jeans – Citizens of Humanity

Turtleneck – Aritzia

Boots – Zara

A good pair of jeans can be hard to find; the wash has to look just right, the fit has to be perfect and of course they have to be comfortable! Most people hate trying on jeans and hate wearing jeans in general. They find them uncomfortable or unflattering. However, I am a jean fanatic, if I could live in jeans, I definitely would and so I am always on the hunt for a good pair of jeans (because let’s be real, good jeans are hard to come by). Recently, I had heard a lot of talk about the Citizens of Humanity jeans. A lot of my friends had told me that these jeans were really comfortable and flattering for all body types. The pair I purchased are the rocket cropped, high-rise fit in a medium wash. I was lucky to find these jeans for an amazing price during Aritzia’s boxing week sale. Originally priced at $258 before tax, they were on sale for $128. Since I had a little Christmas cash to spend, I decided to treat myself and I was presently surprised. The fit of the jeans is perfect, they are super comfy and don’t even feel like I am wearing jeans. They are real denim (not jeggings or spandex material) and they contour my body in the most flattering way!

Jeans are easy to style because they can go with any look. You can rock a plain tee and some sneakers to keep it more casual or you can throw on a nice blouse and heels to really dress up the look. Jeans are versatile and there is really no wrong way to style them! For this look I decided to wear an oversized wool sweater with a simple black turtleneck underneath. For a pop of color, I accessorized with a bright mustard, leather cross-body purse. To finish off my look I added a sleek, black leather statement belt that matched my black leather booties. Oversized sweaters can sometimes come across as intimidating and a lot of people are scared that an oversized look will make them appear bigger than they actually are. The real key to rocking an oversized sweater is to make sure to wear something fitted underneath (like a tight pair of pants or a fitted top). This will stop you from looking like you’re drowning in clothes and make your outfit feel more chic!

All in all I would definitely recommend giving the Citizens of Humanity jeans a try if you get the chance, I promise you won’t be disappointed! They are the comfiest pair of jeans I have ever owned and have easily become my favorite pair of jeans. Be sure to let me know what you think of this look in the comments section, I always love hearing from you! 🙂

xx- Nicole ❤
