So it is pretty cold in Canada right now and this awful weather has me feeling kind of reminiscing on better and warmer times. Obviously this led me back to my amazing trip to Italy this past summer. Our second destination was the beautiful region of Florence. Just when I thought the weather couldn’t get any hotter, I was proved wrong. Florence was absolutely stunning and the weather was beautiful. The scenery in Florence is inspiring and romantic, so I made sure I packed a lot of flowy dresses and oversized sun hats.
Dress – Zara
Neck Scarf – Zara
Hat – H&M
For this look I went with a tunic styled dress with a nude slip underneath. To add a pop of colour to my outfit I tied a silk scarf around my neck. While traveling in Florence, I found simpler outfits were the best choice; this allowed me to keep my suitcase light and also helped when it came to dealing with the heat! Accessories are your best friend, they can elevate any outfit and they hardly take up any space in your suitcase…leaving more room for souvenirs 😉
While in Florence me and my family decided to take a bus to explore the province of Tuscany. Tuscany is known for their amazing wines, specifically red wine. We booked a wine tour that took us to 2 different wineries in the Chianti region of Tuscany. I have done wine tours in Niagara, Canada but nothing could compare to this. The rolling green hills were beautiful and it just took your breath away and most importantly the wine was amazing 😉 (but I’m not much of a wine connoisseur…) While touring the wineries it was easy to see that the people who do this put a lot of passion and love into what they do. We also managed to learn a few things on our tour! For example: a true Chianti wine will come from the region of Chianti and is always marked by a rooster seal on the bottle. So for those of you who love Chianti wines now you know what to look for at your local liquor store!
All in all Florence was a breathtaking leg of our adventure! From the architecture to the history, it truly was an amazing city to visit. There is so much art and history in Florence and too many museums to visit, my only regret is that we did not have more time in this part of Italy. If you ever get a chance to visit Italy I would definitely recommend paying a visit to Florence, you won’t be disappointed! 🙂 If you’ve ever been to Florence or Tuscany comment below and let me know how you liked it and what you did there! I always love to hear from you guys! ❤
